Safety Guide — Is this the real BitBook, and other Common Crypto Scams?
Dear BitBookers,
With the smashing success and popularity of BitBook, there are a lot of SCAMMERS out there impersonating BitBook staff, projects, and social media channels.
To try and keep the BitBook community safe we have put together a guide with all the official sites where you can research the project, the only places where you can buy BBT tokens, and we listed the channels where you can interact with the team. We also provide some basic awareness for common scams in the space and resources for what to do if you have fallen victim to a scam.

Double Check & Triple Check Everything!!
Even if it has nothing to do with BitBook your BBT may still be at risk and you must stay vigilant especially if you are self custodial, meaning you hold your private keys in a hardware or software wallet rather than relying on an exchange like ProBit or BitMart.
If you are going to enter your seed phrase into a wallet service
BE SURE IT IS THE ORIGINAL SOURCE!
Do NOT click links, copy and paste them into your browser.
Once the page is loaded, check the URL and look at every character!!
We recently had an admin of our own group get scammed using a spoof of MyEthWallet, a very reputable service, but he was dealing with scammers. He entered his private key without checking the URL, and lost 1,000,000 BBT and all of his ETH and BSC coins.
Dusting Attacks — I just got a bunch of FREE coins in my wallet, YAY! NO — they will DRAIN your wallet!!
Be leary of any tokens that just appear in your wallet! If you connect to Bogged tools, Dex Tools, Flooz Trade, etc you may see loads of new coins in your wallet. DO NOT CLAIM THEM!!! They are a decoy to get into your wallet and start draining it. It’s a dusting attack and you will be very upset.
If you use Flooz or Bogged simply use their Hide feature to get rid of nefarious tokens. Do NOT add them to your wallet, or interact with them in any way.
Again, if it seems too good to be true, IT’S A SCAM!
What Should You Do If you Think You Got Scammed?
Tell someone IMMEDIATELY!
Yes, I know it’s embarrassing, but even if you just suspect something might be wrong, tell someone. The BitBook chat is very friendly and has a lot of experience crypto users who are happy to help you live and in the chat.
If you think you may have been the victim of a scam and have had your wallet or security compromised in any way TELL SOMEONE.
BitBook will report the theft to all major exchanges and do our best to track any transactions that are fraudulent and we will prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.
You are not alone! We will help fight for you if you have been victimized.
If you are not sure, tell someone, we will help you figure it out.
If you don’t want to use the group, then DM an admin.
Remember, ADMIN DO NOT DM FIRST. If you ask for help in the group and someone DMs you to assist, go right back to the chat and tag them there. If their Telegram ID does not show, that is a RED FLAG!
